THE CALL FOR APPLICATIONS IS CLOSED.
There are currently no open positions.
Past Calls for Applications:
are pleased to announce a call for 3 full-time Fixed-Term Researcher positions (Ricercatore a Tempo Determinato INAF) within the iSEEDs project. These are 2-year employment contracts, with possibility of renewal, offering a comprehensive benefits package (including social security and health coverage).
Title of the position: Data Mining, machine Learning, and astrochemistry for studying young planet-forming systems.
Objectives and scientific project: The researcher will work within the framework of the project iSEEDs (Astrochemical Studies of Early Embedded Disks), focusing on the physical and chemical properties of young disks. In particular, the researcher will contribute to the development of data analysis tools and/or the application of data mining and machine learning techniques to exploit large datasets of observations ranging from infrared to millimeter and centimeter wavelengths. The datasets originate from large programs (e.g., ALMA-FAUST) as well as telescope archives.
Key Skills & Experience (Preferred):
Background in star and planet formation
Experience in developing data mining and machine learning tools for analyzing big datasets from large programs and/or archival data
Expertise in the reduction, analysis, and/or modeling of observational data from infrared to millimeter and centimeter wavelengths
Application Period:
The call for applications is now opened. The submission deadline is October 31st, 2025.
Please prepare the following documents for submission:
Curriculum Vitae (CV) & Research Statement: Your detailed CV along with a descriptive report of your research activities (maximum 5 pages, font size 12, single spacing).
Full Publication List: A comprehensive list of your scientific publications.
Five Selected Publications: Five publications of your choice, drawn from your full publication list, that you wish to be evaluated qualitatively by the committee.
Other Supporting Documents: Any other relevant qualifications or documents (e.g., awards, teaching experience).
Applicants must hold:
A PhD in Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Mathematics or
A Master's Degree (Laurea Magistrale) in Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Mathematics, combined with at least 3 years of documented research experience.
If your degree was obtained outside Italy, and you are selected for a position, you must formally request its recognition (equivalency) from the Ministry of University and Research or the Ministry of Education. Further details and forms are available on the Ministry's website here: (www.mur.gov.it/it/aree-tematiche/universita/equipollenzeequivalenza-ed- equiparazioni-tra-titoli-di-studio/titoli-1)
Candidates must be citizens of Italy or an EU Member State; or family members of EU citizens holding a valid right of residence; or non-EU citizens with an EU long-term residence permit, refugee status, or subsidiary protection status, and must possess an adequate knowledge of the Italian language.
The gross annual salary for these positions, which includes standard social security contributions, retirement contributions, and unemployment insurance, will be approximately 31.5 k€.

Title of the position: Observations and modelling of continuum and line emission from infrared to cm wavelengths to characterise the properties of young planet-forming systems.
Objectives and scientific project: The researcher will work within the framework of the project iSEEDs (Astrochemical Studies of Early Embedded Disks). In particular, the researcher will focus on characterising the physical and chemical properties of young disks by analysing continuum and line observations from infrared to millimeter and centimeter wavelengths and/or by developing physical and astrochemical models to interpret the available observations.
Key Skills & Experience (Preferred):
Background in star and planet formation.
Experience in the reduction and analysis of observations from infrared to millimeter and centimeter wavelengths.
Expertise in the development and use of astro-chemical and radiative transfer models for the analysis of molecular lines and/or continuum.
